Juvenile robbed at gunpoint during fight at park

A juvenile was referred to probation after robbing another teenager during a fight at Glenn Meadows Park. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon when a group of kids gathered at the park for a fight. By the time authorities arrived the group had dispersed but a report came in that one of the kids was robbed at gunpoint during the fight.

Witnesses, including the victim, told police that they had gathered at the park for a fight and while two individuals were fighting another teen produced a gun and pointed it at the victim, while another kid took the victim’s fanny pack, which contained an air pistol and a necklace. The two robbers threw the necklace back at the victim and left with the air pistol.

Police caught up the alleged robber through tips from some of the juveniles who had been at the park. The suspect admitted that he had confronted the victim with a firearm and claimed that the victim had threatened his sister at school. Police were given permission to enter the suspect’s home where they retrieved the air BB gun and a 10 mm firearm.

The suspect was transported to the Safford Police Station until juvenile probation picked him up. The suspect is facing charges of armed robbery, misconduct involving weapons and endangerment.
