Joseph John Martinez Gomez, of Thatcher and a United States Army veteran, entered into rest Sunday evening, September 15, 2024, at the Casas Adobes Post Acute Rehabilitation Center in Tucson. Joe John was 68.
Joe Gomez was born in Safford and raised in Thatcher. He was born to Joe and Alcaria Gomez. He attended the Thatcher School District and loved playing football.
Joe John met and married Sharon Taylor. To this union was born one son, Samuel Gomez. Sam was the love of Joe John’s life. Upon Joe and Sharon’s divorce, he would live most of his life with his mother, Alcaria.
Joe John enjoyed watching football. His team was the New England Patriots. He also spent a lot of his time helping in the community with several side jobs for people.
He is preceded in death by: his mother, Alcaria; his brothers, Angel and Eugene.
Joe has had many friends here in the Gila Valley. He will forever hold a special place in his heart for his son, Sam.
Private family services for Joe John will be conducted at a later date.
