Jessica Joann-Pedroza Maldonado, a name that will forever be remembered for her unwavering kindness and selflessness, passed away in Tucson, Arizona, on Sunday, March 24, 2024. Born in Safford, Arizona, on February 9, 1983, Jessica’s legacy is one of compassion, generosity, and fearlessness.

Throughout her life, Jessica touched the hearts of many with her boundless generosity. She never hesitated to lend a helping hand to those in need and was always a steadfast advocate for the underdog. Volunteering was not just a pastime for Jessica; it was a way of life that she embraced wholeheartedly.

In her youth, Jessica attended school in Tucson and was a proud member of the Desert View High School Class of 2001. As a dedicated R.O.T.C Cadet and Color Guard member, she exemplified discipline and commitment. she was skilled in playing the violin and bass, showcasing her creativity and passion for music.

Described as kind, helpful, and open-minded, Jessica’s warm spirit made everyone feel welcome in her presence. She was known for her adventurous nature and willingness to try new experiences. Her daring skydiving adventure left her family on the edge of their seats but served as a testament to her fearless approach to life.

Jessica had an eclectic range of hobbies and interests, most notably her love for collecting various items. To her, every object held potential value, reflecting her optimistic outlook on life where nothing was deemed disposable.

In addition to her unforgettable personality traits and hobbies, Jessica’s dedication to accepting others without judgment left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Her inclusive nature made everyone feel like they had a friend in her.

She leaves behind a legacy cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Among those mourning her loss are: her son, Joseph Magaña; daughter, Lorena B Maldonado; brother, Patrick Rios; sisters, Bethany Maldonado and Tara Maldonado; father, Jessie Joe Maldonado; mother, Frances P Maldonado; as well as her late grandfather, Joe C Pedroza; late grandmother, Belen S Holbrook; late grandmother, Mary Maldonado.

While Jessica may no longer be physically present among us, her spirit lives on through the countless lives she has touched with her kindness and unwavering love. May we honor her memory by emulating the same compassion and acceptance she so effortlessly shared with the world.

Graveside services for Jessica will be conducted Friday, April 5, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., in the San Jose Cemetery.
