James Martinez, also known as Cheesecake, and a longtime resident of Clifton, entered into eternal rest Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Banner UMC in Tucson, Arizona with his family by his side. He was 63.
James, formerly of Gallup, New Mexico, worked as a Senior Ramp Tech at Freeport McMoran Copper and Gold. He was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.
James leaves behind: his wife, Margaret, of 15 years; his children, Gracie (Javier), Jimmy (Paula), Angela (Timo), Lisa (John), Elizabeth (aka Lovey), Michael (Stephanie), Pablo (Brittany); 5 siblings, 27 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by: his sons, Joseph Anthony and Julian Andrew.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Monday, January 22, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morenci by Rev. Nathaniel Mma.
Family will receive friends Monday, January 22, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. also at the church. A rosary and prayers will be offered prior to Mass, at 2:00 p.m.
A reception will follow at the Clifton Social Club.
