CDBG funds are federal grants to support housing and economic opportunities, as well as help low and moderate income areas of a community.
Uses include:
- Public infrastructure, such as water or sewer lines, or streets
- Community facilities, such as parks, and senior or youth centers
- Housing
- Public services, such as paying salaries for those assisting marginalized groups
- Economic development, such as business recruitment or micro-loan programs
The public hearing will take place during the City Council’s regular meeting, March 9, at 6 p.m., in the Safford Library’s programming room.
