PIMA — Gov. Katie Hobbs announced the Town of Pima is getting nearly $1 million for infrastructure for the new high school.
On Friday, Hobbs announced Pima will receive a Southwest Border Regional Commission (SBRC) grant for $337,500 for construction of a two-lane road connecting the high school to U.S. Highway 70, with turning lanes and a stop light. The funding requires a match of $2.5 million. In Fiscal Year 2026, U.S. Rep. Juan Ciscomani, R-Ariz., was able to direct $1 million to the high school road project.
Pima will also receive $583,947 in Greater Arizona Development Authority financing. Those funds will be used to upgrade the town’s sewer system, to serve both the new high school and other residential growth.
Willcox and Duncan are also receiving SBRC grants. Willcox is receiving $425,000 for Downtown revitalization, while Duncan will receive $485,000 for chip-sealing town roads.
