SAFFORD — Safford Police were looking for the suspect in a hit-and-run property crash Tuesday night.

The incident occurred at about 10:15 p.m., when a vehicle that appeared to be traveling at a high rate of speed smashed into a truck parked at a property on the 700 block of 16th Street, damaging the truck and pushing it through the house wall. A second vehicle parked on the property was also damaged.

The driver exited the vehicle and asked a bystander who owned the house. When it was pointed out that the homeowner was walking toward the crash, the driver got back behind the wheel, and drove off southbound on 8th Avenue before police arrived.

Two others had exited the vehicle following the collision, and walked away eastbound on 16th Street.

The vehicle was a silver Chrysler 300. In the collision it lost the front bumper and the driver’s side front fender. Air bags were also deployed.
