Historical Society to tour Coolidge Dam

SAFFORD — The Graham County Historical Society has announced the date and location of its annual Spring Trek.

The Historical Society will go on a tour of the Coolidge Dam in Peridot on Feb. 1, with a second tour set for Feb. 8 if more than the tour limit of 30 register.

The guided tour will take about two hours, including both the top and interior of the dam. Participants must be able to climb up and down stairs, wear long pants and closed-toed shoes, and bring their own water. A hard hat is also required, and the Historical Society will have a few available for loan but participants are encouraged to bring their own.

Registrations will be taken at the annual Graham County Historical Society Meeting and Heritage Award Program on Saturday, Jan. 18, at 10 a.m., at the Ranch House on the Eastern Arizona College Discovery Park Campus.
