Health Dept to host Alzheimer’s Education program

The Alzheimer’s Association in partnership with the Graham County Health Department will host a two-part education on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at the Graham County Senior Center in Safford.

The first presentation will begin at 3:00 pm and will focus on the 10 warning signs of Alzheimer’s. Alzheimer’s and other dementias cause memory, thinking and behavior problems that interfere with daily living. The Alzheimer’s Association ® developed the 10Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s education program to help people recognize common signs of the disease and know what to watch for in themselves and others.

The second presentation will begin at 4:00 pm and will focus on understanding Alzheimer’s and dementia. Alzheimer’s disease is not a normal part of aging. During this one-hour program,learn about the difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia, its stages, risk factors, and more.
