SAFFORD — Following Thursday’s presentation, there’s now a two-time Pride of Safford Award recipient.

Eva Harper was nominated for her work on the Southeastern Arizona Community Unique Services (SEACUS) board, her service on the Arizona Community Foundation of the Gila Valley Board, as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and her work with the Southeastern Arizona Governments Organization (SEAGO) Senior Advisory Council.

“It’s wonderful,” Harper said about receiving her second Pride of Safford Award. “I enjoy what I do. So it’s really wonderful and I thank the city for giving me this award.”

Harper received her first Pride of Safford Award in 2013, for her work in helping establish ARC, the organization that serves the area’s special need population, which has evolved into Great Communities Resource Center (GCRC) serving Graham, Greenlee and northern Cochise counties. She also served on the Foster Care Review Board.
