PIMA — Gila Watershed Partnership is asking for volunteers to help with one more cleanup of the Gila Riverbanks this year.
The cleanup will take place below the Pima Bridge on Saturday, Nov. 9.
“There’s a ton of trash out there,” said Dr. Sarah Sayles, GWP executive director. “Last year we picked up 3,500 pounds of trash at that location.”
The cleanup will take place from 8-11 a.m. and volunteers are asked to RSVP at enedelia@gwpaz.org.
The cleanup is sponsored by GWP, Freeport-McMoRan, Graham County and the Town of Pima.
