SAFFORD — To celebrate Women’s History Month, the Friends of the Safford Library will offer a presentation on “Gutsy Women.”

“Bonnie (Briscoe) and I had been doing, in celebration or recognition of Women’s History Month, for the last few years, honoring First Ladies,” said Friends of the Library board member Paulette LeBlanc. “While we were doing research on that last year, we happened upon a book written by Hilary Clinton and Chelsea (Clinton) called ‘Gutsy Women.’ The book is filled with more than 130 small biographies of incredible women in every category under the sun.”

Eleven Gila Valley women will present short stories about women who made a significant contribution to both America and the world at large, across a number of disciplines, including business, invention, exploration, medicine, athletics, politics and more.

Presenters include Joyce Benvenuto, Janice Evans, Deborah Gibbs, Eva Harper, Linda Harrison, Linda Hedges, Tonya Himmelfarb, Deanna Moeller, Paula Price, Sarah Skemp and AnJi Craig-Wooten.

The presentation will take place Thursday, March 26, starting at 5:30 p.m., at the Safford Library Annex, 814 S. Central Ave. Admission is free.
