THATCHER — The public is invited to the groundbreaking of the first American Southwest Credit Union Gila Valley branch Friday, May 16,
The groundbreaking ceremony will take place at 1 p.m., at the branch’s future home, 3307 W. Main St., in the new Thatcher Commercial Plaza.
“We are excited to finally be turning dirt on our brand new branch building in the Gila Valley. American Southwest Credit Union is here to stay,” Branch President Mayra Parra said.
Following the groundbreaking ceremony, attendees are encouraged to stay for light refreshments, snacks and conversation. The event will provide an opportunity for community members to learn more about ASCU’s expansion plans and the services the new branch will offer.
American Southwest Credit Union will be the first business to open its doors in the Thatcher Commercial Plaza, the former Red Lamp RV Park. The second will be a Culver’s restaurant, following the sale of a parcel of land in the commercial plaza by the Thatcher Town Council in March.
