SAFFORD — Arizona Special Forces Chapter XXII invites the public to join in a Memorial Day weekend service.
The Green Berets will conduct a service at the gravesite of Sgt. Walter Bruce Foote, a Safford High School graduate who, while serving as an Army Special Forces member in Vietnam, was killed in action March 6, 1970. He was awarded the Bronze Star medal, the Silver Star medal and the Combat Infantry badge.
The service, honoring all service men and women who gave their lives for the country, will take place at Gila Valley Memorial Gardens on Saturday, May 28, starting at 10 a.m.
