SAFFORD — On Monday, the Graham County Board of Supervisors approved the agreements with project workers at this weekend’s Graham County Fair, as well as authorizing overtime for eight county employees working at the fair.

Graham County Parks Manager Trey Andrews also asked the board to OK the naming of Barbara Lou Gilpin as this year’s Fair Parade Grand Marshal.

“If you ever went in Graham County Florist that was Barbara for decades, and her daughter later on,” Supervisor Danny Smith said. “Anyways, we’re glad to celebrate her and what a nice choice.”

Gilpin will lead the Graham County Fair Parade on Safford’s Main Street starting at 10 a.m. Friday. Following the parade, Graham County school bands will gather at the courthouse steps for a free concert.

Youth livestock judging will take place the first two days of the fair, with sheep, goats, poultry and pigeons judged Thursday; and beef cattle, swine and rabbits judged Friday.
