Kalliah Amerie Z. Beas, a 5th grade student at Solomon Elementary School is the winner from Graham County in the AZ529 Essay Contest.
The State Treasurer Kimberly Yee challenged 5th and 6th graders to dream big and submit an essay describing their dream job and how they will achieve it. 20 winners, from among 876 entries, were chosen representing every Arizona county and district, charter, private, tribal and homeschool students. Kalliah shared her dream of a career in Early Childhood Education. Kalliah was honored during a ceremony at the State Capitol, November 3, while Kalliah could not attend, she was awarded $529 towards her own AZ529 savings account.
Christian Hamersley, a 5th grade student from Fairbanks Middle School is the winner from Greenlee County in the AZ529 Essay Contest. Christian shared his dream of becoming an Engineer. Christian was honored during a ceremony at the State Capitol, November 3 where he was presented with a giant check for $529 towards his own AZ529 savings account.
