Gloria White

Our amazing, beloved mother, Gloria White, 83, passed away on June 20, 2023, with loved ones by her side. She bravely battled a brief aftermath of a stroke.

Gloria was born in Wards Canyon at a house that still stands today. She lived in Shannon Hill for 61 years where she raised 7 children. We all have found comfort in visiting our childhood home throughout the years. Mom was our home, and we will miss her dearly. She used firm love raising children and grandchildren. Her door was always open for any of her grandchildren that needed a place to stay, some after an earthquake ruined their home, and another to just get out of the city to attend a smaller school; then another that rode out covid in the shelter of her loving home.

In her spare time Gloria loved watching westerns and sports and was an avid Diamondbacks fan. She worked at Tastee- Freeze, JC Penny, Coles Pizza, often simultaneously, and finished her career as a CNA for Greenlee County Home Healthcare.  Regardless of circumstances, she ensured her children were provided a loving and caring home and she always made Christmas special. We were never without.

Our mother Gloria is survived by: 7 children, 19 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; as well as her sisters, Amelia and Celia. Gloria is preceded in death by: her mother, Guadalupe Mendoza, her father Hilario Lopez, her infant son, Matthew James and her brothers, Reynaldo and Raul Lopez.
