Glenna Mae (Hardy) Scott entered into rest on Monday, April 3, 2017, in Tucson, with her family at her side. She was 79.
Glenna was born the daughter of Charley and Verna Hardy in Tucson, Arizona, on October 6, 1937. She graduated from Winslow High School. Later, she attended Eastern Arizona College where she met the love of her life, a handsome blue-eyed soldier driving a fancy new ‘57 Volvo, Guy Scott. They were married on April 10, 1958, in the Mesa LDS Temple for time and all eternity.
Glenna worked at Dorothy Stinson School as a Title One aide and loved teaching children. She and Guy served an LDS Mission in Independence, Missouri, at the historical church sites. She also served in many other callings in Relief Society, Young Women, Primary and scouting and was always a beloved visiting teacher.
She was a loving mother to her own five children; Brian Scott (Karen), Cheryl Christensen (Cal), Brenda Ferrin (Kevin), Bret Scott (Tracie) and Shellie Carter (Nick). She was also Nonnie to 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Charley and Verna; her brother, David; and her sister, Joyce.
Glenna was so loved by so many and will be missed deeply.
Funeral services for Glenna will be conducted Wednesday afternoon, April 12, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., at the Safford L.D.S. Mount Graham Chapel by Bishop Reed Larson of the Safford Eighth Ward. Concluding services will follow in the Safford Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, April 11, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at the Vining Funeral Home and Wednesday afternoon, from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m., at the Safford L.D.S. Mount Graham Chapel Relief Society Room. Arrangements are entrusted to Vining Funeral Home.
