THATCHER — While there are a few days left in 2022, it’s time for performers to start planning for 2023.

Registration has been opened for Gila Valley Idol 2023 at Gila Idol 2023 | GilaValleyCentral.Net

There are six preliminaries, where singers perform a cappella. At each preliminary, the judges — all former Gila Valley Idol winners — will select three to advance to the finals.

Each preliminary is held on a Thursday starting Jan. 26 and ending March 2. Locations of the prelims have not yet been released.

At each preliminary, the judges will also select one person to perform at call-back night, March 9, at the Graham County Chamber of Commerce building, where another finalist will be selected.

The fans will also have the chance to select one finalist via online voting at GilaValleyCentral.net.

Those 20 performers will take the David M. Player Center for the Arts stage on Thursday, March 23, for the chance to be crowned the Gila Valley Idol for 2023.

Gila Valley Idol started in 2006 and is presented by Double R Communications.
