SAFFORD — Graham County is averaging more than two dozen new cases of COVID-19 a day this month.
That’s according to data released by the Graham County Health Department.
The Health Department reported 93 new cases over four days on Nov. 1, 75 new cases over three days on Nov. 3, 92 new cases over four days on Nov. 8, 58 new cases over two days on Nov. 10, and 156 new cases on Nov. 15. That averages out to 26.29 new cases per day.
The Health Department also reported that, as of Nov. 15, there were 671 cases considered active and the total number who have tested positive since the start of the pandemic is up to 8,093.
The Nov. 10 reporting also included two coronavirus-related deaths, bringing the total dead since the start of the pandemic to 121.
Graham County’s mortality rate from the virus is 1.5 percent, meaning 15 out of every 1,000 residents who contracted the virus did not survive.
Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center reported that 92 percent of the patients hospitalized for COVID-19 are unvaccinated, and an average of 11 patients are hospitalized per day due to coronavirus.
Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center, in partnership with the United Way of Greenlee Counties, is offering free drive-up COVID-19 testing at the hospital’s Copper Mountain Clinic.
Free drive-up testing takes place Monday through Friday, from 1-7 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Graham County Health Department announced anyone 5-years-old and older may receive free vaccinations at the county’s vaccination clinic on Main Street in Safford.
