SAFFORD —The Graham County Chamber of Commerce is excited to invite the community to the January Wine, Wings and Willcox tour on Jan. 14.
The Gila Valley Adventure Club is a group of people committed to learning about the community, making new friends and having fun. Last year was the group’s first year, and their list of activities included camping on Mount Graham, spending an evening at the Eastern Arizona Museum in Pima and stargazing at Roper Lake State Park. In December, the club met at The Way church and enjoyed an all-terrain vehicle Christmas light tour.
January’s Gila Valley Adventure has an adult only 21 and older age limit due to the fact that it is an all-day wine tour to Willcox, with transportation included. Anyone interested in attending this adventure can pay the transportation fee of $20 to the club ahead of time through this link or in person at the Graham County Chamber of Commerce. Attendees can bring their own food or purchase food at the many stops along the way. The tour will include Coronado Vinyard, Birds and Barrels Vinyard, Carlson Creek Vinyard, Tirrito Farm and the Wings Over Willcox festival. Attendees will also be given the opportunity to shop on Railroad Avenue. When you’re traveling with the club you are responsible for your purchasing choices, but friendship is always a staple with the Gila Valley Adventure Club! The partaking of wine tasting is optional.
After meeting at the Chamber of Commerce, the tour begins and attendees ride in provided transportation. The tour will return to the Chamber after 9 p.m.
“I’m very excited to be bringing the Gila Valley Adventure Club to Willcox,” said Kay Marchione, director of the club, “It’s going to be a great experience to be able to visit these wineries and make friends in the Willcox area. I’m looking forward to the new connections we can all make and the experiences we can share.”
