SAFFORD — The Gila Native Plants Nursery announces its 2024 Spring Plant Sale, starting with virtual sales on April 1, and opening to the public every Friday in April.

The kickoff event will be held April 5, from noon to 6 p.m., at the Gila Native Plants Nursery at Discovery Park. Join Gila Native Plants Nursery for food, games, and a special concert from the EAC Brass Quintet.

Shoppers can get all of their native plants questions answered by experts.

The special sale item this April is the Arizona Rosewood, a beautiful native shrub with holly-like leaves and large white blossom clusters. Two sizes (1-gallon and 5-gallon) will be available at a reduced price. The plant sale also features pomegranates and figs, lots of flowering plants for pollinator gardens, and many special and unusual cactus and agave plants.

On subsequent weeks, the nursery will be open to the public every Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All online sales may be picked up on Fridays, and shoppers are encouraged to stop in during those business hours throughout the month.

Shoppers who aren’t able to visit the nursery on Fridays are encouraged to schedule an appointment on other days. The Nursery is not a retail store, but was founded to provide plants for the restoration activities of the Gila Watershed Partnership. This annual fundraiser helps the nursery support all of its work in the community.

Whatever one is looking for, Gila Native Plants Nursery has something to fit the bill. The full list will be available on the website, gwpaz.org/shop, starting April 1. For more information, visit the website or contact Apprentice Manager Hyla Cline at hyla@gwpaz.org.
