GRAHAM COUNTY — A man who reportedly claimed to be hunting ghosts was arrested for trespassing.

Graham County Sheriff’s deputies were called out to South Robinson Ranch Road, when a homeowner said he found a strange man in his basement. When the homeowner confronted the man, the stranger reportedly said he was “looking for ghosts” and then left.

Assisted by Safford and Thatcher Police officers, the suspect was later found passed out in a vehicle on 8th Street. The suspect, identified as DeShawn Brown, reportedly told officers he had been in an argument earlier that evening with his girlfriend and he was trying to get home.

Officers said Brown admitted to drinking that evening, and crawled into the vehicle because he was looking for someplace warm.

Brown, whose shirt was found in a canal, was wet and muddy, and muddy handprints were found on the doorknobs of the house owned by the owner of the vehicle.

Brown was taken into custody on charges of first- and second-degree trespassing.
