George C. Wright, Jr

George C. Wright, Jr., “Junior,” was born and raised in Clifton, AZ. He served in the U.S. Army, after which he returned to Morenci and worked at the mine. He married Angie Aguilar in 1967, raising their three children: Robbie, Pam, and Anthony, and gained his “#3 son,” Thomas “Pepe” Montoya, in 1994.

George felt blessed beyond belief when his grandchildren; Kelcee, Robbie Jr., Anthony Jr., Tianna, and Michael were born. But in more recent years, the joy of his life came from being around his four very special great grandchildren, Aryana, Kamryn, Sammy, and Tatum. He loved them “un chingo!”

Most would say that George was a man of few words, but to his family, who knew him best, this was not the case. He was their everything, and everyone hung on his every word. He was hilarious, especially in the eyes of his grandkids. He was a partner in crime to his own three kids. To his wife, he was her life. The man she could spend each day with, driving each other insanely crazy much of the time, while never doubting each would be there for the other, until the end of time.

George was the only remaining son of Tomas and George Wright, Sr. His brother, Lionel Sr., and sisters, Betty, Margaret, and Helen passed before him. He was also preceded in passing by his son, Robbie, in 2019.

The amazing memories our family have will sustain us for now, and the love will live on forevermore.

Until we meet again, Georgie. We love you.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for George will be celebrated Friday, April 12, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Clifton by Rev. Nathaniel Mma. Committal will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
