Forest Service plans for pile burning on Mount Graham

SAFFORD — Safford Ranger District, Coronado National Forest firefighters plan to continue pile burn operations on Mount Graham this week, weather permitting.

The burn units total about 190 acres and include the areas of Jesus Goudy, Grant Creek and Turkey Flat.

All trails and roadways will remain open during operations, but visitors are asked to avoid the area. Residents and visitors may experience smoke during the prescribed burns.
