Flu in Graham County up 86 percent, down 44 percent in Cochise

PHOENIX — Influenza appears to finally be tapering off in Southeastern Arizona

According to data released by the Arizona Department of Health Services, there were just five cases of flu in Graham County the week of March 22, one in Greenlee County and 10 in Cochise County.

Graham County has experienced 747 cases of influenza so far this season, an 86 percent increase over the five-year average of 402 cases.

In Greenlee County, there have been 242 cases of flu so far this flu season, up 15 percent from the five-year average of 211 cases.

Cochise County reports a total of 394 cases. That’s 44 percent below the five-year average of 709 cases at this time of the flu season.

Statewide, there have been 36,158 cases of flu so far this season, with 989 the week of March 22.
