SAFFORD — The Gila Valley Old Time Fiddle Contest returns to Graham County this weekend.
“We’ve got the Arizona Wildflowers coming; there’s these three girls (who are) incredible on their fiddles, incredible voices. They’re going to be playing at the (sponsor) dinner on Friday night,” said Vance Bryce, Graham County Chamber of Commerce executive director.
Also appearing will be Six Gals and a Hat.
Competition begins Saturday at 9 a.m. and runs throughout the day, followed by a public dance at 7 p.m.
Competition wraps Sunday, with the event culminating in non-judged events, including Fancy Fiddle, Twin Fiddling and the popular Show Us Your Stuff.
“Show Us Your Stuff is going to be six minutes to do your wildest stuff. And anyone can participate in that one, even the judges,” Bryce said. “So we’re going to see some fire coming off those strings.”
All events take place at Mt. Graham Golf Club.
