November 9th through November 16th
Activities are planned in the Gila Valley to honor veterans on Veterans day and throughout the week. The events begin this weekend with a field of flags setup on the Safford City Lawn on Saturday morning. The flags will remain until Saturday, November 16, 2019. Flags can be purchased online at http://www.healingfield.org/saffordaz/19.
A Veterans Day parade is scheduled for Monday, November 11, 2019 on Main Street in Safford from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The parade will end at the Courthouse where the annual Veterans Day Ceremony will take place. All area veterans of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard & Reserves in Graham and Greenlee Counties and beyond are invited to participate in the event.

Saturday, November 9
8:00am-12:00pm: Flags set up at the City Hall lawn (flags will remain until 11/16)
9:00am-2:00pm: Information booths open and Honoree flag sales continue
11:00am-2:00pm: Veterans resource expo (Courthouse lawn) American Legion and Auxiliaries and VFW and Auxiliaries, Field of Honor flag sales and GGSV tables on the Courthouse lawn along with Free hotdogs and drinks supplied by the Army National Guard & GGSV. And, an obstacle course by the Army National Guard.
Sunday, November 10

2:00pm-3:30pm: Joyful Ringers Bells-Patriotic concert at Methodist Church
Monday, November 11
Field of Honor flags remain displayed
9:00am-12:00pm: Information booths open and Honoree flag sales continue
9:30am-10:45am: Parade staging (Washington Federal area)
Parade (Veterans, Family Members, Marching bands)
10:50am-11:30am: Veteran’s Day Ceremony at the Courthouse
11:30am-2:00pm: Veteran’s luncheon at Post 32 Legion (Safford Lions Club)
11:30am-1:00pm: Patriotic Concert at Courthouse Steps (EAC band)
