Few new coronavirus cases across the region

SAFFORD — It was a very quiet couple of days when it comes to coronavirus in Graham County.

Graham County Health Department reported just five new cases Sunday and four new cases Monday, bringing the county’s total to 614, with 21 deaths.

Meanwhile Greenlee County has gone 11 days without anyone testing positive for COVID-19. The Greenlee County Health Department reports the county’s total at 58, with two deaths.

The San Carlos Apache Tribe reported a small number of new cases, with just seven tests coming back positive Monday. That brings the tribe’s total to 672, with 10 deaths.

The San Carlos Apache Reservation will play host to two testing blitzes this week. The first will take place Thursday, Aug. 20, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at San Carlos High School in the Peridot District. The first 300 to attend will be tested.

The second testing blitz will take place Friday, Aug. 21, from 9 a.m. to noon, at Stanley Hall in the Bylas District. At the second testing blitz, only the first 100 will be tested.
