A deputy was dispatched to a residence in Graham County at the request of the FBI to verify a TikTok account of an area resident that reportedly made threats to an unidentified school. The FBI had received notification from the social media platform indicating that an individual, identified as an 18-year-old man posted a video at approximately 2:35 am Monday making statements about shooting up his school. The specific school was not identified. The FBI agent said that he had reason to believe the TikTok account belonged to a resident of Graham County and asked the deputy to make contact with the man to verify their suspicions.
Three deputies called upon the residence the FBI had given them and asked if the man they were looking for lived there. The man who answered the door said the suspect was his son and that he was home. The deputies explained the matter and the man had his son come to talk with the officers.
The 18-year-old man confirmed that he had a TikTok account but he had not been on since August 19, 2025. He pulled up his account to show the deputies, which confirmed that his account was not the same account the FBI had flagged and he had not been active in his account for a while.
The findings were relayed back to the FBI agent, who had no further requests.
