Excessive Heat Warning Extended to Twelve Counties

he National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for:

Coconino County areas below 4,000 feet from 6/7/22 11:00 AM to 6/12/22 8:00 PM.

Maricopa and Pinal Counties from 6/8/22 10:00 AM to 6/12/22 8:00 PM.

Gila, Graham, Greenlee, La Paz, Mohave, Pima, Santa Cruz, and Yuma Counties from 6/9/22 10:00 AM to 6/12/22 8:00 PM.

Yavapai County from 6/10/22 10:00 AM to 6/11/22 8:00 PM.

Daytime highs are expected to be up to 118° F in certain areas. Residents are advised to stay cool, stay hydrated, and stay informed.

Precautions to prevent heat exhaustion or heat stroke:

Stay in air-conditioned buildings.

Limit outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day (mid-day).

Check on at-risk friends, family, and neighbors at least twice a day.

Drink water before, during, and after working or exercising outside.

Check the UV Index.
