Edith Parker Stetson (Brinkerhoff)

Edith Parker Stetson (Brinkerhoff) passed away June 13, 2016 in North East, PA at the age of 67 with supportive family at her side.

Edith was born April 8th 1949 to Sgt. William R. Parker (USMC) and Margarite O. Daley. She was raised in the Phoenix area graduating from Maryvale High School in 1967. On June 10, 1966, being set up on a blind date, she met Jim Brinkerhoff and from then on they were inseparable getting married in the Mesa LDS Temple on June 5th, 1968. Jim, Edith, and then two children, moved to the Gila Valley from Phoenix. Once in the Gila Valley, she and Jim had 4 more children.

In her time in the Gila Valley she did small businesses of Avon and Kids Can Sew, teaching many children how to sew. She grew a love for scrapbooking and was a representative for Creative Memories. She also enjoyed serving the youth, side by side with Jim spending many summers cooking for LDS Girls Camp for the Safford Stake.

In Oct of 2008 she said goodbye to her best friend of over 40 years when Jim passed away. Living in Phoenix at the time she worked at the University of Phoenix.

While living there she met an amazing man, Steve Stetson. They were married on Aug 31, 2010. She went back to school to become a courtroom transcriptionist. It was then that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. After beating breast cancer, she and Steve realized that life was too short to not live it to the fullest. They moved to North East, PA. to have a small vineyard and where she would enjoy working, farm animals, and owning a beautiful home. Edith was happy all the way to the end with Steve by her side.

She is survived by her mother, Margarite Daley, siblings, Joseph Daley, Raymond Daley, husband Steve Stetson and her six children: Stacia (Eric) Ciminski, Fletcher (Becca) Brinkerhoff, Arabeth (Jeremy) Brimhall, Taz (Halie) Brinkerhoff, Paisley (Chris) Scott and Jorisen (Kayle) Brinkerhoff. She also is survived by her 16 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her firstborn James Talley Jr, her father Bill and husband Jim.

Services for Edith will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the 20th Street LDS Chapel. A viewing will begin at 4 p.m. and funeral services will follow at 5 p.m. Interment will immediately follow in the Graham Cemetery.
