Eastern Arizona College announces Skills Day results

THATCHER, Ariz.— Hundreds of high school students came to Eastern Arizona College earlier this month to demonstrate their talents and skills for the 43rd Annual EAC Skills Day competition.

Over 400 high school students from 20 area high schools spent the day on EAC’s campus competing in a variety of skills-oriented categories. Over 30 events were held in the areas of graphic design, art exhibition, still-life drawing, automotive, accounting, economics, business, promotional marketing, CADD/drafting, chemistry, multimedia presentation, French, Spanish, welding, and woodworking.

Winners from Academia Juarez include Alejandro Armendariz Wong, first place in Art Exhibition-Painting, and Honorable Mention for Art Drawing/Still Life; Frida Valeria Galaz, first place in Art at Our Feet; Regina Gonzalez, first place in Advanced Spanish Poetry/Prose Recitation, first place in Advanced Spanish Skit, and second place in Advanced Spanish Written Exam; and Kim Kaleb Meza Talavera, first place in Computers-Microsoft Excel; and Jazlyn Payan, first place in Advanced Spanish Written Exam, and first place in Advanced Spanish Skit.
