EAC offers CLEP exams for students wanting to “test out”

By Taryn Lamb

THATCHER, Ariz.—Eastern Arizona College offers the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams to help you receive college credit for what you already know—for a fraction of the cost of a college course. You can prepare for and take the exams on your own time, whether you’re getting a head start on college or working to finish your degree. A CLEP exam costs $85 – $100 payable to CLEP and a $15 administration fee payable to EAC.

Examples of EAC classes that students can place out of include ENG101 Written Communications I and CMP103 Introduction to Computer Based Systems. You can also earn up to 16 credits in Spanish, French or German languages and test out of French 101, 102, 201, and 202; German 101, 102, 201, and 202; and Spanish 101, 102, 201, and 202.

For more information, or to setup an appointment, contact Jerri Lukens, EAC testing coordinator, at (928) 428-8491 or by email at testing.center@eac.edu.
