THATCHER — As a precursor to its newest sport beginning play this coming school year, Eastern Arizona College is hosting an indoor five-on-five soccer tournament in July.
The Monsters Mash-up will see players compete in four divisions:
● Third through fifth graders, Saturday, July 15, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
● Sixth through eighth graders, Saturday, July 15, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
● High schoolers, Friday, July 14, 6 p.m. to midnight
● Adults, Friday, July 14, 6 p.m. to midnight
A maximum of seven players is allowed per team, with four and a keeper on the pitch during play. Play will take place inside Guitteau Gymnasium.

Eastern’s first ever men’s and women’s soccer programs will debut in August. Schedules have not yet been released; however, Ottawa University Surprise announced its men’s and women’s teams will host EA for a pair of split squad scrimmages Aug. 12.
