Doxo Insights study shows Safford 8th least expensive city in Arizona

SAFFORD — The findings of a survey by Doxo Insights released Monday shows Safford residents pay about 24 percent less for regular household bills than the United States average.

According to the study, Safford residents pay an average of $1,608 per month, compared to $2,126 nationwide, and Arizona’s average of $2,184.

In 10 categories, Doxo Insights showed Safford residents paid monthly, on average:

● $976 for mortgage

● $855 for rent

● $379 for an auto loan

● $366 for utilities

● $37 for life insurance

● $131 for health insurance

● $142 for auto insurance

● $76 for cable/internet

● $102 for mobile phone service

● $88 for alarm/security

Of those 10, Safford residents pay more than the national average in utilities ($362 U.S. average), health insurance ($114 U.S. average) and alarm/security ($85 U.S. average.)

In the study, Eloy has the lowest average at $1,403, followed by Bullhead City, Green Valley, Winslow, Golden Valley, Nogales, Globe and Safford.

The most expensive city in Arizona on average was Paradise Valley, at $3,403, followed by Scottsdale and Cave Creek.
