Douglas E. Brauer, of Safford, entered into rest Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at the Haven of Safford. He was 69.
Doug lived simply and with great courage. He was independent in spite of the limitations Muscular Dystrophy had on his body. A dear man, loved one, friend and teacher who had respect for all.
He was an intellectual man who had a childlike curiosity of the world. Doug was very ingenious and resourceful in accomplishing what he wanted and needed. He built his own hand controls for driving from old bicycle parts.
He was an incredibly talented artist using mainly charcoal and pastels. Some things he really enjoyed are Pepsi, homemade Mexican food, calzones, oatmeal cookies (home made), fast cars and watching NASCAR races.
