Disc golf, cruising and a dance on tap for Safford this weekend

The Cruising Main travel path this Saturday, from 8-10 p.m.

SAFFORD — A trio of events are scheduled to take place this coming Saturday, but two might be in conflict.

The day starts with a disc golf benefit tournament at Graham County Fairgrounds. Registration starts at 7:15 a.m. and discs fly at 7:35 a.m.

Cost is $5 for the first five throws, and 25 cents per throw thereafter. Proceeds will benefit Kimberly Draper, who is currently battling cancer.

Starting at 6 p.m. and running until 9 p.m., Graham County Substance Abuse Coalition will stage the first of four summer events, a free street dance for teens, ages 14-17, on Safford’s Main Street. The coalition will also have a teen pool part in Pima on June 17 and another street dance in the Pima High School parking lot July 15.

Also taking place traveling the length of Safford’s Main Street, from 8-10 p.m., will be Cruising Main. Drivers will be able to show off their vehicles by driving slowly from the Graham County Courthouse to 3rd Avenue and back again.
