PHOENIX — This week, Steve Montenegro, the incoming Speaker of the state House of Representatives, announced the committee assignments and chairmanships for the 57th Arizona Legislature, which begins in January.

Representative Gail Griffin has one chairmanship, while Lupe Diaz has two. Griffin and Diaz represent Graham, Greenlee and Cochise counties.

Griffin remains as chair of Natural Resources, Energy and Water; and will sit on the Land, Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee, as well as the Ethics Committee.

Diaz retains his chairmanship of Land, Agriculture and Rural Affairs; and has been named chair of the Ethics Committee. He will also sit on the Appropriations and Commerce committees.

This will be Griffin’s final two years in the state House of Representatives due to term limits; however, she can run for the state Senate in 2026.
