Deputies respond to reports of naked woman screaming and throwing things in yard

Law enforcement officers respond to many situations that don’t involve crimes. In some cases they’re sent to check on the welfare of individuals. This was the case on Sunday night when deputies were sent to a residence in Central after receiving reports of a naked woman screaming on the porch and throwing things outside. When authorities arrived they didn’t find anyone outside the residence and attempted to make contact with someone inside the residence.

Deputies noticed pieces of broken furniture scattered across the front yard as they approached the residence. They reportedly heard a woman’s voice inside the home along with sounds of things being thrown around inside. Deputies tried calling out the woman’s name and even called her on the phone but did not receive an answer to any of their attempts.

Finally, the woman appeared at a window and the deputies asked if she was okay. Her answers to their questions were vague and her mood reportedly changed rapidly. She had covered herself with a sheet. When deputies entered the home they noticed broken wooden furniture and children’s toys scattered around.

At one point the woman said that she was concerned about her husband, who had apparently been in the hospital, but later said that she just wanted him to leave her alone. Deputies confirmed that there was nobody else at the residence and asked if there was someone she could call to come be with her. The woman’s answers were not clear and the deputies were not sure whether she was under the influence of a substance.

Lifeline ambulance was called to evaluate the woman. At first she acted as though she was afraid of the EMT’s when they approached, but they were able to calm her down and received permission to transport her to the hospital for evaluation. A deputy managed to find some clothes so she could be fully clothed before being transferred to the hospital. A deputy followed the ambulance to the hospital to make sure they arrived safely.
