Richard Dennis Cluff, of Mesa and formerly of Pima, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2020, surrounded by family. He was 85.
Dennis was born to parents Vearl and Ethel (Carpenter) Cluff in Pima, on November 11, 1934. He was a graduate of the University of Arizona with a degree in Pharmacy and later received his Master and Doctorate degrees. He married Judith Ann (Daley), the love of his life, in the Mesa Arizona Temple in 1958, who survives him. They were married 61 years. He is also survived by: his children, Denise Cluff Smith (Kevin Smith), Gary Dennis Cluff (Candy Briggs Cluff), Michael Daley Cluff, Melanie Cluff Dawe (Kevin Dawe) and Amy Jo Cluff Stallings (Wayne Stallings); as well as 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Dennis spent 23 years in Blythe, California, and was known for his generosity for helping the community with their health as a pharmacist and business owner of Palo Verde Drug. In 1984, he relocated to Mesa, Arizona, and continued helping the community as pharmacist until his retirement.
As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, his favorite calling was to serve in the Mesa Temple with his wife Judy. They served together for 10 years and worked every Saturday. He was loved by his family and took pride in being a loving and caring father and husband. He will be remembered of his strong testimony of Jesus Christ and the blessings of knowing that the family is eternal.
Funeral services for Dennis will be conducted Saturday, June 6, 2020, at 10:00 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints church building located at 1852 N. Stapley Dr., Mesa, Arizona, 85203. Family will receive friends for a viewing at 9:00 a.m., also at the church.
Concluding graveside services will be conducted on Monday, June 8, 2020, at 10:00 a.m., in the Pima Cemetery.
