Deadline approaching to nominate a Veteran Service Leader

TUCSON — There’s just one day left to nominate a Graham County veteran for a Veteran Service Leader Award.

U.S. Rep. Juan Ciscomani, R-Ariz., is taking nominations of men and women who have served their communities and their country.

The award focuses on the veteran’s post-military career and contributions to their community, including volunteer work and leadership roles they have held.

To qualify, a veteran must have received an honorable discharge, supported by the veteran’s DD214 form. Veterans may self-nominate.

Click here to nominate a veteran. Submissions will be accepted through Oct. 31. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Previous Graham County Veteran Service Leader Award recipients:

  • 2024 — Eric Bejarano, Safford assistant city manager and Marine Corps veteran
  • 2025 — Ed Lopez, Southern Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce regional director and Army veteran
  • 2025 — John Rhodes, former Graham County Republican Committee chairman and Army veteran
