COVID levels high in Greenlee, medium in Graham

PHOENIX — The Arizona Department of Health Services is reporting that Greenlee County is experiencing high COVID-19 community levels.

Eight counties — Apache, Cochise, Gila, La Paz, Navajo and Yuma, along with Greenlee — have high levels, and the Department of Health Services is recommending mask wearing in indoor settings.

Greenlee County experienced 13 new cases over the last week and 385 over the past six months. Greenlee County is experiencing a 16.5 positivity rate on tests and 48.6 percent of the population has been vaccinated.

Graham and the other six counties are at medium COVID-19 community levels. For those counties, the CDC recommends talking to a health-care provider if mask wearing is appropriate given an individual’s health status.

Graham County experienced 47 new cases over the last week and 1,497 over the past six months. There were two COVID-related deaths in the past week, and seven since July.

Graham’s testing positivity rate is 11.1 percent and 52.2 percent of the population has been vaccinated.
