COVID-19 testing blitz in Duncan this weekend

SAFFORD — It was a relatively quiet day in the Gila Valley Tuesday when it comes to coronavirus.

Greenlee County Health Department reported no new cases, keeping its total at 26 positive cases, with 13 active, 12 recovered and one death.

A testing blitz will take place in Greenlee County this weekend. Canyonlands Healthcare will host a drive-through mass testing at the Greenlee County Annex in Duncan on Saturday, from 7-11 a.m.

Graham County Health Department reported eight new cases Tuesday, bringing the county’s total to 180.

The new cases included one each from Thatcher and Central, and three each from Safford and the San Carlos Apache reservation.

Forty-one of the people infected have recovered, 136 of the cases are still active and there have been three deaths.

The San Carlos Apache Tribe reported four new cases Tuesday, bringing the total to 198 — 175 on the reservation and 23 off.

Of the total, 110 have recovered, 83 are active and there have been five deaths.
