SAFFORD — St. Vincent de Paul Society announced it will conduct a cornhole tournament to help raise funds for its food pantry.
The SVDP Safford Cornhole Tournament will take place Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Freeport Pavilion at Graham County Fairgrounds.
The event will kick-off at 7:30 a.m. with a rosary prayed in honor of Our Lady of Fatima’s final appearance and her “Miracle of the Sun,” followed by registration at 8 a.m. and bags flying at 9 a.m.
Cost is $20 per person and there will be prizes for first, second and third place. The event will also feature raffles, food trucks and live music.
Through emergency services and food baskets, St. Vincent de Paul’s food pantry serves about 300 people each month. The pantry is open three days a week, from 10 a.m. to noon.
