Cooperative Extension offering kids cooking classes

SAFFORD — This summer, kids have a chance to work on their culinary skills.

The University of Arizona Cooperative Extension in Graham County is offering cooking classes for third through sixth graders.

The classes are divided by age and each age group will experience three days of instruction.

  • Third grade — 10 a.m. to noon, June 25, July 2, July 9
  • Fourth grade — 1-3 p.m., June 25, July 2, July 9
  • Fifth grade — 10 a.m. to noon, June 26, July 3, July 10
  • Sixth grade — 1-3 p.m., June 26, July 3, July 10

Classes will take place at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, in room Matthew.

Registration is free, e-mail mianahrios@arizona.edu with child’s name, grade and any food allergies; parent or guardian’s name; and emergency contact information.

Deadline to register is June 14 and classes are limited to 15 children per grade.
