SAFFORD — The City of Safford announced Monday the launch of its new online building permit software, iWorQ, which will be available for public use immediately.

“The new online system is a big step forward in making our permitting process more accessible and efficient,” said Jaime Embick, Planning and Community Development director, “We’re excited to offer a solution that enhances convenience for those building in Safford.”

The new system allows applicants to submit building permit applications and plans electronically, providing greater convenience by allowing submissions at any time. This digital approach not only speeds up the application process but also aligns with the systems already used by Graham County, as well as the towns of Thatcher and Pima, making it familiar to local contractors.

The Building Permit Portal is available on the city’s website. Residents and contractors can easily find the portal link on the homepage under the Building Permit section, providing streamlined access to permit applications and resources.

The city’s Neighborhood Officer will also be using the iWorQ platform, but there will be no changes to the public process for submitting complaints.

For any questions regarding the new building permit system contact Tristan Richard at 928-432-4144, Monday through Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
