PIMA — Roughriders football is now an official part of history.
Pima Town Manager Vernon Batty informed the Town Council that U.S. Rep. Juan Ciscomani, R-Ariz., read a statement into the Congressional Record, congratulating the Pima High School football team for reaching its third state championship game in a row.
“The Pima Roughriders football team has become a beacon of pride for the community with an impressive record,” Batty said, reading from the record. “They rank third all-time in state history — across all conferences — with 10 football championships, and second in championship game appearances with 21.”
