SAFFORD — The Graham County Republican Committee has announced a slate of GOP candidates will be at the annual party gathering, the Lincoln Day Luncheon.

“Our state reps, Gail Griffin and Lupe Diaz, will be there, and our senator from LD 19, Sen. David Gowan,” said Marianne Clonts, chair of the Graham County Republican Committee.

Also attending will be incumbent Graham County Sheriff PJ Allred and his challenger, Mike Bodine. The race for Sheriff will be decided in the Republican Primary, as there are no Democrats running for the office.

Guest speaker for the event is U.S. Rep. Juan Ciscomani, R-Ariz., who is seeking re-election to a second term.

Clonts said both of the Republican candidates for U.S. Senate — Mark Lamb and Kari Lake — are unable to attend, but both will have representatives at the event to answer questions.

The Lincoln Day Luncheon — normally held in February in honor of the birthday of the country’s first Republican president, Abraham Lincoln — will take place Wednesday, May 29, at noon, at Manor 415 Convention Center.

Cost is $50 per person and tickets can be purchased at Annual Lincoln Day Lunch Tickets, Wed, May 29, 2024 at 12:00 PM | Eventbrite.
