WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Juan Ciscomani announced that Pinal County Sheriff Ross Teeple will be his guest for President Donald Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress.

“Our law enforcement officers consistently go above and beyond to safeguard our communities, and I am committed to using my position to support their critical mission,” Ciscomani said. “It is an honor to welcome newly elected Sheriff of Pinal County, Ross Teeple, as my guest for President Trump’s Joint Address to Congress. The I-10, which runs through Pinal County, is a key corridor for trade, tourism and local traffic; but, also drug trafficking. The brave men and women who serve as police officers here play a key role in keeping communities safe and commerce running smoothly. Sheriffs Teeple plays a key role in this mission and I look forward to hosting him in DC next week.”

Teeple was elected the 25th sheriff of Pinal County in November and took office in January. He is a Tucson native and Navy veteran who served for 12 years as a corrections officer with the Arizona Department of Corrections before joining the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office in 2007.

“I’m honored by Congressman Ciscomani’s invitation to be his guest at President Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress,” Teeple said. “Pinal County is one of the fastest growing counties in Arizona and while we are not on the border, we’re on the front lines of the border security crisis facing our nation. Fentanyl-related prosecutions in Pinal County more than tripled between 2020 and 2023 and the toll this deadly drug is taking on our friends and neighbors is heartbreaking. Congressman Ciscomani has been a leader in Congress to toughen penalties for those responsible for it and strengthen border security. I’m looking forward to joining him at an event where this issue will be front and center.”

In the Sheriff’s Office, Teeple has worked as a patrol deputy, search and rescue deputy, honor guard member, patrol sergeant, criminal investigations sergeant, internal affairs supervisor, human resources manager, patrol lieutenant and aviation/search and rescue lieutenant.

In 2023, Ciscomani invited Lee Lambert, Chancellor of Pima Community College as his guest. In 2024, Ciscomani invited Jane Strain, Veteran and Cochise County resident, as his guest.
